TIME

TIME

The First thing that God created on Earth was TIME.

In the beginning, when He spoke and said, “Let there be light,” time began. It was the start of the timeline of humanity. It was the beginning of time. God, in His mercy, has given us years upon years of time.

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 says;

There is a time for everything,

and a season for every activity under the heavens:

a time to be born and a time to die,

a time to plant and a time to uproot,

a time to kill and a time to heal,

a time to tear down and a time to build,

a time to weep and a time to laugh,

a time to mourn and a time to dance,

a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,

a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,

a time to search and a time to give up,

a time to keep and a time to throw away,

a time to tear and a time to mend,

a time to be silent and a time to speak,

a time to love and a time to hate,

a time for war and a time for peace.

John 1:1-4 says,  

In the beginning, was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God.  All things were made through Him, and without Him was not anything made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.”

God gave John insight about time; it started from the beginning. When John wrote the Gospel of John, God had placed John in the middle of the timeline of “HIStory” (God’s Story). John took us back to the beginning of time so that he could truly prove that our Alpha and Omega is JESUS, the Author of time, the Word that became flesh, and the finisher of our faith!  

John was also given a vision about the end of time and wrote the Book of Revelation, which speaks of the end times. There is undoubtedly a “time” for everything, and there is a time when time is no more. It’s called eternity!

God has given us time to call on His name so that we can be saved. He has given us time to repent and surrender to His love. He has given us time to proclaim His Majesty and to proclaim Him to those who need a Savior. He has given us time to grow in intimacy with Him and to grasp His unconditional love for us! He is giving us time to bring in a harvest of souls before His return…for such a time as this!

As we approach the end of time and usher in the King of kings and Lord of lords may our hearts be fully aware of what time it is. May we be comforted in knowing that God is outside of time. He knows the beginning and the end because He IS the Beginning and the End. He said that He would be with us always, even until the end of the age – until the end of time.
