Life has a way of shifting under our feet. One moment you’re comfortable, and the next, everything’s changing—your homelife, your friendships, your routine, even your view of yourself. I have walked through those transitions. Some were exciting; others left me confused, wondering who I was and where I was going. But one thing I have learned is that transition is not just about change—it’s an invitation to transformation, especially when Jesus is the one leading the way.
I have grown in my capacity to really lean on Jesus, trust Him, and follow His lead. I know that He directs my path. He is my True North. In the middle of all the noise, He became the still, steady voice pointing me forward.
The world is constantly trying to tell us who we are. It throws labels around—awkward, too quiet, too loud, not enough, too much. I believed a few of those lies for far too long. But then I remembered what God said: “Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you.” That stopped me in my tracks. Before I was anything to anyone else, I was already known and loved by God. Psalm 139 reminded me that I was fearfully and wonderfully made, and in Ephesians, He calls me His masterpiece. Suddenly, I saw it—my identity was not up for debate. Jesus had already defined me.
The more I leaned into Him, the more I realized that knowing who I am is directly connected to knowing Whose I am. And with that, my purpose began to unfold. I wasn’t wandering anymore. I wasn’t trying to create a life plan from scratch. Instead, I was following the One who already knew the way. “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord (Jeremiah 29:11). I wasn’t lost—I was being led. Jesus didn’t just forgive me. He had every intention of transforming me from the inside out and directing me into the destiny He designed for me.
Transformation didn’t happen overnight. But the moment I surrendered and said, “Jesus, I’ll follow You,” something shifted. I started to change, not by my own strength, but because I was walking with the One who makes all things new. Old fears started to melt away. Lies that used to cling to me were replaced with truth. Even old habits began to lose their grip. My mind was being renewed daily through His Word, His Spirit, and time spent simply listening and following.
I like to think of it as finding my “PH Balance”—not just physical health, but a spiritual balance of Purity and Holiness. When Jesus is at the center, He aligns things in my heart that I did not even know were out of order.
Are there still lies that I listen to? Are there still some things that frighten me? The answer is “YES,” but God is a God of transformation, and He is continually transforming me into His image. No lies, no fear.
Romans 12:2 says, “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” That transformation is still happening. It is a daily realignment, a daily question I ask before I even leave the house: “Jesus, where are You leading me today?”
If you are in a season of change right now, I want to tell you something: you are not lost. Jesus is your compass. Let Him define you. Let Him guide you. Let Him show you who you really are. Life will always have transitions, but when Jesus is your True North, every step becomes part of your transformation.
And He will never lead you astray.
Blessings,
Joy Pharo
