What kind of cook are you? Me? I am your basic cook—and I mean basic. Three ingredients or less, and no slicing, dicing, or folding in, allowed. If it can fit all in one dish, even better!
Take Tater Tot casserole, for instance. I mean, you got your:
- Tater Tot = carbs
- Hamburger = protein
- Cream of mushroom soup = veggies
- Add a razzleberry pie by Marie (Calendar) with vanilla ice cream on top and you’ve got your fruit and dairy.
BAM! All your food groups in two dishes.
Now, when it comes to spices, I am also very basic. I’ve got two main “go-to’s,” garlic salt and seasoning salt. Again, things are seasoned all in one or two shakes.
I love it!!
What does all this have to do with “Adding your faith to it?” No, I’m not adding my faith to my cooking, although that might help!
I always have garlic salt and seasoning salt on hand. I never let it get low or run out. I always know where it is in my cupboard and what shelf it is on. They are always there. I may run out of other spices that are not so frequently used, but NEVER garlic or seasoning salt.
What about my faith? Do I always have that on hand? Do I use it on and in everything and never let it run low? Or is it one of those things/”spices” I use only once in a while and am not even sure what it’s for?
When I “add my faith,” am I just “throwing it in,” hoping it will do some good?
OR am I adding my faith IN the One who created the “recipe” in the first place and knows exactly how it all works together for my good?

Hebrews 11:6 NKJV But without faith, it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
2 Corinthian 5:7 AMP For we walk by faith, not by sight [living our lives in a manner consistent with our confident belief in God’s promises].
2 Corinthians 5:7 NLT For we live by believing and not by seeing.
Colossians 1:4 AMP For we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus [how you lean on Him with absolute confidence in His power, wisdom, and goodness].
Keep on adding your faith!
