Puzzle Pieces

“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,”

says the LORD. Isaiah 55:8 NKJ

We think it through and attempt to reason it out. We look, and we look, and we look. Some pieces look like they will fit; they have all the right curves and colors, but no matter how many times you try turning it, or how hard you push or pound it, it just won’t fit!

Sometimes you need to walk away for a bit instead of trying and trying and trying and failing each time. Failure leads to frustration, which gives way to anger, which ultimately leads to our less-pretty side.

Walking away does not mean putting one foot in front of the other. No, walking away means to take your hands off the situation. Stop trying to control it or force it, but allow God to work on “the puzzle” without your help.

Later, you come back, and one of several things happens: All of a sudden, you see the missing piece you have been looking for. Hallelujah!  Thank you, Jesus! OR, “Someone” (God) has— without your help—put another piece in place, giving you more information to now look for “the piece” we need.

Take a moment to ponder . . . The missing piece that fits has actually been on the table all along. There were so many other pieces, many appearing to be similar, that you could not see it. You looked right past it because maybe your mind was “divided—thinking about too many things at once, or trying to reason it out.

Many times, we overlook the missing piece that fits because it does not look like “the piece” that fits.

When pieces seem to be missing or do not seem to fit, trust God. He is the Master of the puzzle, and He knows where every piece is and where it goes. He holds the full picture of the puzzle of your life.
